When you see a Corvette driving down the road, it is always an impressive sight to be seen. It’s curves and lines are unmistakably America’s number one sports car! What’s even more impressive than a lone rider is a string of corvettes. A spectrum of brilliant colors and shapes, winding down the roads as far as the eye can see. Every group activity generates this spirit and the larger the turnout, the more satisfying the experience. Corvette owners, as a whole, are typically very interesting people. I have found one of my most memorable times this past year was the making of new friends from all around the region.
I would just like to take this moment and thank each and every member for a great year. This past year, we broke records for attendance and participation. Membership is continuing to grow, as are our events and ability to do more for our community. There were a number of people who stood out, above and beyond, with their contributions to the club in the form of donating their time and effort and to them I say I could not have done it without you!
A special thanks goes out to Jerry Golvidis and Brian Krieger who have decided to step down form their official roles in the club this year. Jerry had been the Treasurer for almost the entirety of the club's history and for that we all salute and thank you Jerry. Also, a special thank you to Brian Krieger for his past two years as Vice President...good job!
My two terms as President were very enjoyable and fulfilling so I will take on the role as President once again in 2010 in hopes to continue to strengthen and build our club. This year we are joined with new officers to bring their new ideas to the table. Congratulations Bill Gnerlich on Vice President, Denise Banke for another year as Secretary, Walter Banke on his first year as Treasurer, Carol Gnerlich for taking on the new position of Activitie Coordinator as well as Glen MacDonald toting the 50/50 sales this year.
There are great plans in the making for a bigger and better year. This past year was better than ever, but there are still too many members who donate their membership dues, which we very much appreciate, whom I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting face to face. I know sometimes it is difficult to make every meeting and event, but we would love to see more of you when you can. For the “Die Hard’s” who were able to make the majority of gatherings, I salute you! You are the backbone of this club and without you we would not exist. Thank you.
We have a great association of people, which in turn makes up a great club! I look forward to another year with all of you.
